It had been quiet for a few weeks. Now the U.S. military targets in Iran have attacked - but explained that the attacks are limited. Iran responds promptly with a counterattack.

For the first time since the end of July, the U.S. forces have again attacked targets in Iran. On Monday night, the region's U.S. military commando Centcom informed X of "limited, targeted measures" against Iranian Revolutionary Guard minelaying units that would have posed a direct threat to the Strait of Hormus. Tehran immediately responded with retaliation attacks on two US military bases in Jordan.
