When it comes to respect for human rights, the countries of the European Union still have a lot of room for manoeuvre, a comment on the International Day of Human Rights.
The reminder of this date is a commitment to an unfinished struggle. Although we know and report the events that have taken place as crimes, it is necessary to build the technical and legal conditions that allow people to live in dignity.
In commemoration of World Human Rights Day on December 10 every year, the Executive Director of the Papua Institute for the Study and Advocacy of Human Rights (Elsham), Rev. Matius Adadikam, hopes that the government will play a role in upholding the rights of every citizen.
