Woman is indicted on two charges over World War II Memorial vandalism
A Kentucky woman named Melissa Farris has been indicted by a federal grand jury for damaging the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. on August 13.
Farris faces two felony charges: destroying a veterans’ memorial and destroying government property, with arraignment scheduled for next week.
She allegedly spray painted 'Clean hands dirty $' on the monument and filled a fountain with bubbles.
President Donald Trump referenced the vandalism on social media, linking it to unproven claims about damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
