Bodies of Mother and Child Found in Luxury Brisbane Airbnb

Police continue investigating the cause of death at a $2.5 million Airbnb, with no ongoing threat to the public, officials said.

  • On Monday afternoon, detectives opened an inquiry after two bodies were discovered at an Airbnb property in Kenmore Hills, Brisbane's west.
  • A welfare check at Tinarra Crescent prompted officers to force entry after no one answered at 12.43pm on Monday.
  • Police confirmed on Tuesday the deceased were a 54-year-old Norman Park woman and an eight-year-old girl who were known to each other and believed found outside the home.
  • A Queensland Police spokesman said there is no ongoing threat, and investigators asked anyone with information or footage to come forward.
  • The property had sold for $2.5 million in 2022 and was advertised on Airbnb at nearly $1000 a night with a five-night minimum costing more than $5000 on 2.5 acres backing Mount Coot-tha National Park.
