Woman, 35, was killed in Bristol house explosion after ex-partner 'forced entry'
Police say the blast was domestic-related and deliberate, with one caller reporting forced entry and an explosive device before the explosion.
On Sunday, May 3, a fatal house explosion on Sterncourt Road, Bristol, killed two people, prompting Avon and Somerset Police to declare a major incident and deploy bomb disposal units.
Investigators are treating the blast as a domestic incident, with reports suggesting an ex-partner arrived at the property and detonated a hand grenade on the doorstep.
More than 70 residents evacuated to a nearby Harvesters pub during the emergency, while three others, including a child, were treated for minor injuries and released from hospital.
Superintendent Matt Ebbs confirmed the neighbourhood is now safe after bomb disposal units completed checks, stating, "Their families have been updated and are being supported by specially trained officers."
Neighbours revealed the female victim had recently moved to the address to escape an ex-partner, as authorities continue investigating the circumstances of the fatal domestic attack.
