Timberwolves Hopeful Anthony Edwards Can Return Against Spurs
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is listed as questionable for Monday's Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the San Antonio Spurs after being cleared for on-court basketball activities.
Edwards suffered a left knee hyperextension and bone bruise during Game 4 against the Denver Nuggets eight days ago, while managing persistent right knee inflammation that has plagued him the past month.
The team released a video showing Edwards running on an underwater treadmill and participating in shooting workouts over the weekend. Wolves coach Chris Finch said Edwards is 'moving in the right direction.'
ESPN's Shams Charania suggested Edwards will likely miss Game 1 and Game 2, with optimism for a return during Games 3 or 4 in Minneapolis as the Timberwolves face the 62-win San Antonio Spurs as heavy underdogs.
Guard Ayo Dosunmu is also questionable for Game 1 due to right calf soreness, while Donte DiVincenzo remains out for the season with a ruptured Achilles. Edwards posted 'Antman is coming... BELIEVE THAT' in a recent video.
