Bronx Woman Dies After Being Pushed From Balcony with Baby: NYPD
Police said the woman and child had injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated position, and investigators are reviewing video and seeking witnesses.
On Tuesday, a 23-year-old woman died and her five-month-old baby girl remains in critical condition after falling from a 15th-floor balcony at 2550 Olinville Avenue in the Bronx.
NYPD officials are investigating whether the pair fell, jumped, or were pushed, though they have not confirmed a witness report that the victims were thrown.
Detectives are looking to question the woman's ex-boyfriend, as sources indicate a history of domestic violence at the Olinville Avenue address.
EMS transported both victims to Jacobi Medical Center, where the infant remains in critical condition with head trauma while the mother was pronounced dead.
Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, and all calls and messages are kept confidential as the investigation remains ongoing.
