Teachers of private schools in Rio de Janeiro hold a 24-hour strike on Wednesday, in the midst of the impasse in the negotiations of the category's wage campaign. Paralysing can affect the functioning of teaching units in different regions of the city, but the situation varies from school to school. According to the Union of Teachers of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro and Region (Sinpro-Rio), at least 19 institutions have paralysed classes.
The Federation of University Teachers (FEDUN) pointed out that discontent over the government’s failure to comply with the University Financing Act is increasing.
