Meerut Blue Drum Murder Case: Muskan, Boyfriend Sahil Convicted for Killing Husband Saurabh Rajput
District Judge Arvind Kumar Mishra is expected to decide guilt first, then sentence, after prosecutors sought stringent punishment for the accused.
A Meerut district court is expected to deliver its verdict on Wednesday in the 'blue drum' murder case, involving the killing and dismemberment of Merchant Navy worker Saurabh Rajput.
Prosecutors allege Muskan drugged her husband, Saurabh, and with Sahil's help, stabbed him to death in March 2025 before sealing his remains inside a blue plastic drum.
District Judge Arvind Kumar Mishra will determine guilt for Muskan and Sahil, with Senior prosecution officer K K Chaubey seeking stringent punishment after examining all witnesses from the Brahmpuri area.
Security has been significantly increased at the court complex, where officials expect to produce the accused via video conferencing while both have spent considerable time in prayer recently.
The high-profile case previously sparked public anger, leading to an alleged assault on Sahil by lawyers in March 2025, while he has remained quiet and withdrawn for the past four days.
