Wildfire north of Harrison Mills grows overnight
Crews and helicopters are battling the blaze, which grew from 0.4 hectares to 1.4 hectares and is believed to be human-caused.
The Blacklock Creek Fire remains out of control west of Chehalis Lake, growing from 0.4 hectares to 1.4 hectares overnight on Monday morning.
Discovered about seven kilometres southwest of Chehalis Lake on Sunday morning, the blaze is believed to be human-caused, triggering an immediate response from the Wildfire Service.
Initial attack crews and helicopters are battling the fire, with an additional helicopter and second crew arriving on Monday morning to reinforce the effort.
No structures are currently in danger, and no evacuation alerts or orders are in place as the fire remains contained to the remote area.
Across British Columbia, nine wildfires started in the past 24 hours as of Monday, while 33 fires have been extinguished in the past week.
