Simon Andriesz Cause of Death: Whistleblower Who Exposed Howard Lutnick's Epstein Links Dies Mysteriously
The former banker told House lawmakers and the FBI about Lutnick-Epstein ties, and reporting says he found 2018 correspondence in public files.
Simon Andriesz, a former banker who exposed business ties between Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Jeffrey Epstein, died by suicide at 57 years old. The Banker reported his passing on October 2, 2026, drawing attention from Rep. Thomas Massie.
Earlier this year, Andriesz uncovered business links between Lutnick and Epstein as recently as 2014 by searching public Epstein files for "HWL," Lutnick's initials. He found correspondence proving they were "in business together" through at least 2018.
The CFTC awarded Andriesz a whistleblower grant for his disclosures; he previously told the BBC he raised concerns about Lutnick's links with the FBI in 2020 and 2021, but encountered "no interest" from officials.
Regarding the news, Klonny Gosch wrote "It's happening again" regarding Epstein-linked individuals, while The White House previously rejected the BBC's investigation as a "pathetic and desperate attempt to slander Secretary Lutnick."
No evidence links Andriesz's death to his previous disclosures, and while Lutnick faced scrutiny, the Commerce Department stated he "voluntarily appeared before Congress" with no evidence of wrongdoing or criminal charges.
