Fidesz calls new president illegitimate, boycotts election and inauguration
The Tuesday election of the president of the republic is the lowest point of Hungarian democracy since the transition — the Fidesz parliamentary group stated in a communiqué to MTI, noting that Fidesz and KDNP members of parliament will not take part in the election or inauguration.
Fidesz and the KDNP have previously announced that they will not participate in the election of the new president.
