Parliamentary groups have expressed support for a proposed amendment to the excise duty law, which envisages an immediate reduction in excise duty on heating oil, which is also used as fuel in agriculture, and gives the government the option of reducing it for all derivatives if the EU approves an additional reduction. The opposition, however, has expressed concern about the loss of budget revenues.
With 69 votes in favor and none against, MPs voted for an amendment to the Excise Duty Act, which provides for an immediate reduction in excise duties on heating oil, which is used as fuel in agriculture, and at the same time brings the possibility of reducing excise duties on other derivatives.
