SIPA PRESS - BE MEPs and Member States sealed an agreement on the night of Wednesday to Thursday to develop plants derived from new genomic techniques (NGT) in agriculture within the EU.Qualified by their critics as "new GMOs", these NGTs allow to modify the genome of a plant but without introducing foreign DNA, unlike first-generation GMOs.The seeds obtained by NGT are therefore genetically modified organisms but are not "transgenic".
