The 56th West Japan Rifle Shooting Championships were held in Osaka Prefecture from the 19th to the 21st. In the boys' 10-meter air rifle standing 60-shot event, Jun Higashi (Konan High School) won with a score of 618.6 in the preliminary round and 242.2 in the final. Higashi also placed third in the beam rifle standing 60-shot event with a score of 227.4 in the final.
