Kyle Sandilands Live launched as a $99.99-a-year subscription service, with Chris Minns set to join and no advertising planned.
On Monday, radio host Kyle Sandilands launched his subscription-based digital show, Kyle Sandilands Live, but the premiere suffered immediate technical failures with audio cutting out and feeds freezing shortly after 7 a.m.
Six months after an on-air dispute with co-host Jackie O Henderson ended his ARN career in February, Sandilands settled his dispute in June for $12.09 million, well under the $85 million initially sought.
NSW Premier Chris Minns attended as inaugural guest with ceremonial scissors, while Sandilands introduced his rebuilt team including longtime manager Bruno Bouchet and executive director Jaimee Mayo Blazquez from his new cast.
Access to Kyle Sandilands Live requires a $99 annual subscription, the only payment method available. Sandilands admitted the show was off to a "clunky start" and fumed at his production crew over failing equipment.
Sandilands said the show runs no advertisements because the female activist group the Mad Fucking Witches pressured clients to boycott, forcing him to shift to direct consumer access instead of traditional advertising revenue.
