Waymo Robotaxis Go Live on the Lyft App in Nashville
The partnership gives Nashville riders another way to book fully autonomous vehicles as Waymo expands access through two competing apps.
- On Wednesday, the Alphabet-owned autonomous ride-hail company Waymo launched driverless rides in Nashville, Tennessee, through the Lyft app, marking the first market where the same autonomous fleet operates on two competing platforms.
- Lyft subsidiary Flexdrive manages the fleet's daily operations, including cleaning and charging; the company will open an 80,000-square-foot depot in Nashville next month, creating more than 70 full-time jobs to support the service.
- Service covers central Nashville neighborhoods including Downtown, Broadway, and Midtown; riders can request Waymo vehicles via Standard, Priority Pickup, Wait & Save, or Extra Comfort tiers, though they may opt out entirely.
