Waverly (Kille) Strawinski – BG Independent News

Waverly Ann (Kille) Strawinski, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, three weeks shy of her 91st birthday. Born November 15, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, Waverly was the daughter of the late Norman and Florence (Kowalka) Kille. Waverly was extremely close to all 4 of her siblings. She and her identical twin, Beverly, were best friends and soulmates.  At the age of 19, Waverly married Chet Strawinski and they had 6 children together. They divorced in 1995. Waverly’s greatest joy was her family.  She loved going shopping, going out to eat, and dancing. She loved getting dressed up and the color red. In her 60s, Waverly went on to learn to drive and had lots of fun making friends, going to dances and listening to live music. She was deeply spiritual and always kind. She always had a smile on her face for people, and she loved to laugh.  She was generous in all ways.  She will be so deeply missed by her family.

She is survived by her beloved children: Sandra Schodowski, Brenda Ceparski, Chester (Robyn) Strawinski, Theresa (Dave) Kujawa, Rachelle (Dave) Johnston, and Lorrie (Aaron) Kajtaniak; her brother Vern (Carol) Kille and sister Mary Ann Vangen. Also left to treasure her memory are 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Waverly was preceded in death by her twin sister, Beverly Harding; brother Dale Kille; brother-in-law Don Harding; sister-in-law Sally Kille; and sons-in-law Larry Schodowski and Frank Ceparski.  The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the nurses, aides and staff at Bowling Green Manor who cared for her with love and kindness.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM, with a Prayer Service at 4:00 PM at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 1460 W. Wooster Street, Bowling Green, OH 43402. A time for food and fellowship will follow immediately after the Prayer Service in the Remembrance Banquet Hall. The family asks that any contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org.
