From July 1, 2026, consumers in the EU will have to pay a new customs duty on many inexpensive online orders from third countries. This primarily affects purchases from platforms such as Temu or Shein. Depending on the type of goods, the additional costs can be incurred multiple times.
A flat rate of three euros will be charged on packages worth less than 150 euros from outside the EU starting July 1st of this year. This measure will also affect products ordered from Shein and Temu.
