Washington County student wins Maine State Spelling Bee

Tristan Singh won after 18 intense rounds, securing his spot at the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee by spelling 'stratosphere' correctly.

Fourteen students from around Maine tested their spelling skills Saturday at Bowdoin College in Brunswick. The winner will have a chance to compete against the best in the nation in May.
