At Least Three Killed in Russian Attack as Zelenskyy Travels to Canada
Ukraine said its drones hit two gas condensate plants more than 3,000 kilometers inside Russia as Russian attacks killed at least three people.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Canada on Wednesday to meet Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, focusing on deepening defense, economic, and energy cooperation between the two nations.
- Moscow launched 149 drones against Ukraine overnight from Wednesday into Thursday, with the Armed Forces reporting that 128 were intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses across 13 locations.
- Meanwhile, the Special Operations Forces reported their deepest strike inside Russia to date, as drones traveled more than 3,000 kilometres to reach targets in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
- The operation targeted the Novy Urengoy Gas Condensate Preparation and Transportation Plant and the Purovsky Gas Condensate Processing Plant, both critical to Russia's energy sector revenue.
- Exchanges of fire continue, with recent attacks in Sumy and Khmelnytskyi killing at least three and injuring 14, as Carney stated the visit will address the "human cost of Russia's war of aggression.
