Walmart-sold pistachio nut butter recalled in 19 states
The recall affects 6.7-ounce jars sold in 19 states after routine testing found the bacteria, with no illnesses reported so far.
Boticelli Foods recalled Bettergoods Pistachio Nut Butter sold at Walmart in 19 states due to potential Salmonella contamination detected during routine testing.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services identified Salmonella in three jars during a routine inspection in July, prompting Walmart to initiate the recall.
Recalled items are 6.7-ounce glass jars with UPC 194346207961 and Lot Code LB028ACP04, with an expiration date of Jan. 28, 2027 printed on packaging.
Consumers should immediately stop eating the nut butter and return it to any Walmart store for a full refund; no illnesses have been reported to date.
The FDA warns that Salmonella is "an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections" in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
