The Des Moines Waterland Walkers will enjoy the August walk along part of the Green River Trail. We’ll meet a few minutes before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026. We’ll walk south along the trail to Van Doren’s Landing Park, which is a nice park with bathrooms, a play area and picnic tables. The trail is wide, paved and almost completely flat. It’s used by walkers and bicycle riders but never seems to be extremely busy.
