VILLANOVA, PA. – In women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at the Finneran Pavilion, the Villanova Wildcats tallied a 69-56 win over the DePaul Blue Demons. With the victory, Villanova improves to 17-5 overall and 10-3 in BIG EAST play, while DePaul falls to 5-19 on the season and 3-11 in league action.
Cold Second Quarter Too Much to Overcome for DePaul at Villanova
DePaul women's basketball couldn't overcome a second quarter in which it was held to five points in a 69–56 setback to Villanova Saturday afternoon at Finneran Pavilion. The Blue Demons mounted a late rally, trimming the deficit to a pair of possessions on two occasions in the fourth quarter, but couldn't complete the comeback as the Wildcats closed out the contest on an 11-4 run.
