Vikings' Running Back Jordan Mason Placed on Injured Reserve with Thumb Injury
Coach Kevin O'Connell said the thumb fracture has been fixed, and Jordan Mason should return quickly as DeeJay Dallas joins the roster.
On September 16, the Minnesota Vikings placed Jordan Mason on short-term injured reserve after the running back suffered a thumb fracture during the September 13 victory over Green Bay.
Coach Kevin O'Connell confirmed the fracture was 'fixed' after Mason was evaluated on Monday following the 39-22 comeback win against the Green Bay Packers at Bank Stadium on September 13.
The Vikings signed running back DeeJay Dallas to the active roster and added Jerome Ford to the practice squad to address the roster vacancy created by Mason's absence.
Pro Bowler Aaron Jones is expected to handle the bulk of the running duties in Mason's absence after splitting carries with him in the season opener, where Jones recorded 12 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Minnesota prepares to face the Chicago Bears on Sunday, marking the Vikings' first contest without Mason as they look to maintain momentum following their September 13 victory.
