In the future, medications will have a QR code for a digital package insert, but paper inserts will remain mandatory for the time being. At the same time, the EU is creating new incentives for the development of antibiotics and for earlier reporting of supply shortages.
The Council and the EU Parliament agreed on this on Thursday. The note, in German the "Beipackzettel", can in future be accessed via QR code.
