THE GOVERNMENT today approved amendments to two laws that increase the pension rights of veterans and their family members, increase benefits for caregivers, introduce a voluntary benefit, and abolish pension reductions for active military personnel, police officers, and authorized officials.
Amendments to two laws - on Croatian veterans and on pension insurance rights of active military personnel, police officers and authorized officials, which come into force on January 1, 2027, cover 201,304 people, or more than 70 percent of veterans.
Pensions and benefits are increasing, a voluntary supplement is being introduced, and the remaining pension reductions are being abolished for 34,000 beneficiaries.
