SpaceX Launches 28 Starlink Satellites Into Low-Earth Orbit
The mission will deploy 28 broadband satellites to low Earth orbit as part of SpaceX’s 88th Starlink launch of the year, supporting global internet coverage.
- Sunday, SpaceX will launch a Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex-4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base, carrying 28 Starlink satellites for deployment about an hour after liftoff with backup opportunities Monday.
- The Starlink mission continues with SpaceX's 88th mission this year, supporting a constellation now exceeding more than 8,500 active satellites and plans for 12,000.
- Targeting recovery, the booster will aim for the Of Course I Still Love You droneship in the Pacific Ocean, nearly 8.5 minutes after liftoff, on its 28th flight.
- A live webcast will begin about five minutes before liftoff at spacex.com/launches and X @SpaceX, and residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties may hear sonic booms depending on conditions.
