Value of Red Deer building permits down sharply

The value of building permits issued by City of Red Deer this year is down more than 30 per cent through May. Building permits data released by the city earlier this week shows the number of permits increased to 473 from 416 last year, but the value is down 31 per cent to $36.6 million from $53.2 million.
