Interagency work made it possible to strengthen the prevention and detection of possible launches of prohibited elements into the prison. A large preventive and security deployment developed Carabineros de Chile and Gendarmería in the vicinity of the Puerto Montt Prison Complex, with the aim of preventing and detecting the eventual entry of prohibited elements into the prison by means of the so-called method of launching or “pelotazos”.
