Utilities returning to Summerland following rescinded evacuation orders
BC Hydro, Telus and Fortis have begun repairs that will continue for the foreseeable future as wildfire risk eases, incident commander Stefan Hood said.
As most of Summerland is able to return home, the good news and recovery continues. On August 20, disaster victims in Summerland, Okanagan, British Columbia, began returning to their homes, and more than 2,000 properties were downgraded from "evacuation order" to "evacuation alert".
