Utah Mammoth pleased with making the playoffs but want more next season
General manager Bill Armstrong said the team will spend the summer refining its young core after reaching the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
- The Utah Mammoth concluded their first playoff appearance on Friday, losing to the Vegas Golden Knights 5-1 in the decisive sixth game of their opening-round series.
- Head coach Andre Tourigny noted the team achieved its primary objectives this year, marking the franchise's first playoff berth since moving to Utah. "There is a lot of pride on what we accomplished," Tourigny said.
- The roster features a young foundation, including Keller, who has scored at least 76 points in four straight seasons, and top draft pick Tij Iginla. Utah holds seven first-round selections in its system.
- General manager Bill Armstrong stated on Tuesday that the team must learn from this loss to better compete in future big moments. "It's going to take all summer to get back in shape," Armstrong added.
