No country should help Iran evade sanctions: Rubio on Modi-Pezeshkian meeting
Marco Rubio warned India and other countries against helping Iran evade US sanctions after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Bishkek. India and Iran discussed trade, regional tensions and shipping safety.
Marco Rubio said that no country should help Iran create a system that allows Iran to make money and then use that money to support terrorism or try to develop nuclear weapons.
Rubio said: "No country should help Iran create mechanisms through which it can earn revenue, and any country that does so will be sanctioned by the United States."
The United States will also impose sanctions on countries that help it evade sanctions against Iran and create mechanisms for Tehran to generate revenue.
