US approves $1 billion arms sale to UAE
The sale will help the UAE convert unguided rockets into precision munitions and improve interoperability with U.S. forces, the State Department said.
On Monday, Oct 5, the State Department approved a $1 billion sale to the United Arab Emirates of up to 10,000 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System guidance sections for rockets.
The UAE and other US-allied Gulf countries have faced repeated attacks from Iranian forces using drones and missiles, prompting enhanced defensive capabilities.

These sales "will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a major defence partner," the State Department said.
