Sept 21 (Reuters) - US spirits maker Sazerac on Monday launched a takeover offer for all shares of beverage firm Berentzen for €5.55 ($6.37) apiece, which is supported by Berentzen's supervisory and executive boards.
Berentzen is to be sold to the United States. The US company Sazerac has announced a takeover offer - which is supported by the schnapps producer from Emsland.
Berentzen is struggling with declining sales and a broken operating profit. Now, the U.S. spirit giant Sazerac is reaching for the German traditional manufacturer. The board supports the offer.
The Lower Saxony company Berentzen is to be sold to the Kentucky-based company Sazerac in the USA. Both spirits manufacturers suffer from declining demand.
