U.S., South Korea conclude Freedom Shield drills amid North Korea tensions
The 11-day Freedom Shield exercise included 18,000 troops and focused on readiness and conditions-based transfer of wartime operational control from the U.S. to South Korea.
The United States and South Korea on Thursday concluded their annual Freedom Shield joint military exercise, after days of heightened tensions with North Korea.
As the annual joint exercise between the United States and South Korea, "Freedom Shield," concluded on the 19th, the ROK-US Combined Forces Command announced that the exercise strengthened the combined combat readiness between the two countries.
