UNC's Henri Veesaar Rejects Largest NIL Offer to Declare for 2026 NBA Draft
The 7-foot big man averaged 17.0 points and 8.7 rebounds last season and is projected as a late first-round pick.
North Carolina big man Henri Veesaar announced Friday he will forgo remaining eligibility and stay in the NBA Draft, concluding his tenure with the Tar Heels after three seasons at Arizona.
New UNC coach Michael Malone traveled to California to retain the 7-foot center, while multiple schools reportedly offered Veesaar $6 million to enter the transfer portal instead.
In 31 starts last season, Veesaar averaged 17.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest, shooting 60.8% from the field and 42.6% from three.
With Veesaar departing, the Tar Heels are reshaping their roster by landing four transfers: forward Maxim Logue from FAU, wing Neoklis Avdalas from Virginia Tech, guard Matt Able from State, and Terrence Brown from Utah.
Draft analysts regard Veesaar as a mid-to-late first-round selection, though his camp maintains confidence he possesses potential to exceed current projections.
