WASHINGTON — The prospects for peace in the Middle East suffered a fresh setback, with President Donald Trump reportedly saying he is in no hurry to end the war with Iran and fighting flaring anew in Lebanon.
Six months after the US and Israel attacked Iran, there is no peace in sight. President Trump expected a short and successful war – instead the US is stuck in the war and cannot withdraw. Iran does not seem to be in a hurry to reach an agreement and the risk is high that it will be a protracted conflict.
