U.S. House has one week to reauthorize highway funding before it expires
The U.S. House has one week left in session to reauthorize federal highway funding before it expires on September 30.
The bipartisan BUILD America 250 Act, a $580 billion five-year surface transportation bill, passed the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in May.
Since the bill is not scheduled for a floor vote, Congress will likely pass a short-term extension to keep funding active.
Hundreds of organizations support the BUILD America 250 Act, which includes the largest federal investment in bridges and supports the Highway Trust Fund.
