- On Tuesday, House Democrats launched an investigation into reports that Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for wedding festivities for Donald Trump Jr. earlier this year.
- ProPublica reported that Kremlev, a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, provided hundreds of thousands of dollars for a three-day Bahamas celebration, including fireworks and a private island, despite Trump Jr.'s estimated $300 million net worth.
- In a letter to White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Garcia demanded records of all purchases made by foreign nationals for the wedding and communications concerning Kremlev to determine if favorable treatment occurred.
- Bettina Anderson called the funding an "extraordinarily generous wedding gift," while Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer denounced the arrangement as "so corrupt, so venal." President Trump denied knowing Kremlev, calling it "not a big deal."
- Garcia is poised to lead the House Oversight Committee if Democrats win the majority in November, stating that Oversight Democrats are investigating how the Trump family has "sought to enrich themselves on the basis of their proximity to President Donald Trump.
