- Operating independently of the retail joint venture with Tata Consumer Products, the centre will support headquarters through higher-value functions including software development and research.
- This announcement follows Walgreens' agreement three days ago to establish its first India GCC in Chennai, where global corporates including Citi, Barclays, and American Express already operate centres.
- Minister for Industries and Investment Promotion Virudhai Magal Keerthana welcomed the investment, stating partnerships like this "reinforce Chennai's position as a destination for global companies to build, innovate and scale.
