In some nursing homes it gets dangerously hot: Employees have measured temperatures of up to 45 degrees during a Verdi survey. Effective countermeasures are already considered necessary from 30 degrees onwards.
According to trade union reports, many nurses and home residents experience temperatures this summer that violate health and safety laws and are hazardous to health.
A Verdi survey shows terrifying conditions in German care facilities. The high temperatures are therefore partly life-threatening for residents and unbearable for the staff. The union even reports of suspected deaths due to the heat.
