Louisville overcame an 0-3 start and won eight of its last nine games to capture the championship in its inaugural UFL season.
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the Louisville Kings defeated the DC Defenders 27-20 to win the United Bowl at Audi Field in Washington, DC, capturing the championship in their inaugural UFL season.
Head coach Chris Redman led the Kings to the title after an 0-3 start, winning eight of their final nine games to finish the season as the league's top team with 17 takeaways.
Starting quarterback Jason Bean left the game in the third quarter with a shoulder injury, forcing backup EJ Perry to lead the Defenders during the championship match.
Ian Wheeler gave the Kings a 20-16 lead with a 44-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, extending Louisville's advantage to 27-16 before the Defenders mounted a late drive.
The loss ended the Defenders' championship reign as Perry's final pass to Cornell Powell fell incomplete at the 6-yard line with less than two minutes remaining in the United Bowl.
