- On Friday, the Florida Board of Governors unanimously confirmed Moez Limayem as the University of South Florida's ninth president during a 15-minute Zoom discussion, and he will start in early 2026.
- Earlier this year, USF President Rhea Law announced she would step down once a successor was found, prompting the USF Presidential Search Committee to launch a nationwide search.
- In September, the USF Presidential Search Committee named Limayem the sole finalist after a nearly 8 month search, and the USF Board of Trustees approved him unanimously in October.
- Limayem said he will remain at UNF until an interim president ensures a smooth transition, crediting the UNF community's fundraising and retention with `a level of passion, commitment and team spirit that has inspired me every day.`
