Rescue and relief operations continue as authorities assess the damage and reach affected communities. The deadly deluge has caused widespread destruction, disrupted essential services and intensified concerns over humanitarian needs across Nepal.
Today, United Nations Secretary-General Secretary-General Stefan Dugard emphasized that the ability to reach those affected in Nepal by the floods and glaciers remains the greatest challenge with the complete or partial closure of major roads.
