Ukrainian drones kill two, hit fuel hub in one of biggest attacks on Moscow region, Russian war bloggers say
Russian officials said 650 drones were launched and 185 were intercepted over the Moscow region as attacks hit a major fuel depot.
On Tuesday, Ukraine launched nearly 700 drones toward Moscow, marking one of Kyiv's largest assaults on the Russian capital.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that more than 650 unmanned aerial vehicles were detected heading toward the region between 8:30 p.m. Monday and 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Governor Andrei Vorobyov confirmed that the attacks killed two people—a 71-year-old man and a 20-year-old man—and injured nine others in the Moscow region.
A warehouse operated by Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries caught fire, while the head of Domodedovo worked to restore electricity to affected villages.
Sobyanin reported that most drones were downed, adding later that another 68 were specifically "destroyed" en route to the capital.
With a large-scale attack, Ukraine temporarily affected air traffic in Moscow. The target was apparently an oil camp in the surrounding area of the city. Russia, meanwhile, again attacked an important bridge in the neighboring country.
