London, Oct. 3 (CNA) Taiwan's Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Cynthia Kiang (江文若), who has just concluded an annual economic and trade dialogue with her U.K. counterpart in London, said Friday that establishing a strategic partnership is key to bilateral cooperation.
Taiwan and the UK are expected to have deeper cooperation in the field of science and technology. The National Science Council stated that the Taiwan-UK Science Innovation and Technology Cooperation Agreement (SITA) was officially signed on the 2nd. The two sides will promote three cooperative projects: satellite communication cooperation, Taiwan-UK silicon photonics academic alliance, and semiconductor empowerment project.
UK and Taiwan deepen trade and technology cooperation
The UK and Taiwan have held the 28th annual UK-Taiwan Trade Talks in London, alongside the launch of a new Science, Innovation and Technology Arrangement and engagement with a Taiwanese business delegation.
