Border guards detained two more officers suspected of abuse during an operation in the Varėna district, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) announced on Wednesday.
Border guards conducted another operation, during which they detained two suspected dishonest officers. They were charged with abuse of office.
The Lithuanian State Border Guard reported the detention of two junior border guard officers in Varen, who had been detained outside their working hours, who had been detained as part of an investigation into the illegal sale of counterfeit goods and abuse of official position, and who had both been charged with abuse of official position.
Border guards of the VSAT Immunity Board and the VSAT Criminal Investigation Board Pre-Trial Investigation Department detained junior specialists of the Aleksandras Barauskas border guard of the VSAT Varėna border detachment on Tuesday in the Varėna district. Both officers were detained off-duty.
