Two Israel Air Force technicians charged with spying for Iran
On Thursday, April 23, authorities indicted two Israel Air Force technicians from Tel Nof Airbase for spying for Iran during Operation Roaring Lion, a joint investigation by the Israel Security Agency , Israeli Police, and IDF.
The two soldiers allegedly maintained contact with Iranian intelligence elements for several months, carrying out various assigned tasks in exchange for payment before their arrest in March 2026.
One technician is accused of transferring IAF F-15 fighter jet engine diagrams and photos of a flight instructor, while both suspects allegedly gathered intelligence on IDF Chief Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
Charges include "aiding the enemy in war" and "passing information to the enemy," while eight other soldiers on the base are suspected of failing to report the technicians' actions to authorities.
Warning citizens and soldiers against contact with foreign agents, the Shin Bet, Israel Police, and IDF emphasized that authorities will continue efforts to detect and prosecute such espionage attempts.
