The request for legislative powers of the government of Keiko Fujimori suffered a setback this week in the Chamber of Deputies. Four parliamentary committees ruled against giving the executive branch the possibility of legislating for 120 days in various matters.
The working group considered that regulatory amendments should be discussed by the legislative chambers; the request included changes for small mining and measures to promote investments in hydrocarbons.
According to an approved advisory opinion report, they request information on environmental problems and their possible impact on water sources.
The report of the commission that concludes that “it is not feasible” to delegate to the executive branch the power to legislate for the period of 120 (120) days in various matters was approved with 11 votes in favour and 7 against.
